MUSIC
Erkoreka's music is a reflection on different interests and motivations: Nature or the need to preserve it; traditional and folk music of diverse origins, which he uses as a pretext for experimentation, and is materialized in what the composer calls the “sonority of a place”. Another recurring concern is the exploration of the mind and its behaviour, which he applies to formal aspects of his works, with the intention of altering the perception of musical time. With a significant concern for social issues, he has extensively cultivated works for soloist and ensemble as a way of confronting the individual and the collective, reflecting the imperfections inherent in human nature. His output shows a genuine preference for dramatic structures -with an extreme use of dynamics and registers- which are condensed into a language of great timbral richness and a marked musicality.
